Stylish Blogger Award

I have been presented with this award by Tammy at Koreafornican. Tammy is a former ESL teacher who began making YouTube Korean fusion cooking videos in 2007. She is also the San Francisco area editor for ZenKimchi Food Journal. Her cooking videos have been featured on, food blog, Serious Eats, Seoul Eats and Thank you so much, Tammy!

As a recipient of the award, I have to share 7 things about myself and pass the award on to 10 bloggers.

First, seven things about me:

1. I was born in Seoul, Korea in the late 1950’s.

2. I love to travel but have fear for flight. It’s the worst when the plane first takes off.

3. I love to listen to music but don’t know how to sing.

4. I have been a beginner yogi for the last 3 years.

5. I’m still learning to use manual functions of my Nikon D80 after 4 years of owning it.

6. I have a sweet tooth and don’t have the will power to resist a good dessert such as Crème brûlée.

7. I was once obsessed with Korean dramas. I watched Winter Sonata three times, staying up all night in some cases.

And here are 10 bloggers that I would like to pass this award to:

Korean American Mommy

Three Baking Sheets to the Wind
Roti n Rice
Chef Wanabe
Andrea’s Wellness Notes
Kitchen Meditation

  1. Winter Sonata was the first K-drama I ever bought. I originally bought it because I read that it was filmed in Chuncheon. That got me hooked on K-dramas and Bae Yong Joon.

  2. Congratulations on the award! I loved getting to know you a bit more! And thank you so much for passing the award on to me!

  3. Congrats on the award, Hyosun! So well-deserved! I truly enjoy following your blog and learning about Korean cuisine. :) Thank you so much for passing this award on to me. I am quite flattered! Have a wonderful weekend!

  4. Congrats on the award, Hyosun! Definitely well deserved! Thank you for passing it on to me. I am honored. The Korean dishes you post here are fantastic…so many I would love to try.

  5. CONGRATULATIONS MRS. RO!!! you deserve it! you’ll be happy to know that I recently discovered a treasure trove of asian food products at the municipal market here. I have since purchased 1 kg of gochujang and 1 kg of chili flakes. I just need to find the time to work it all together and work on some of these recipes. Hope all is well.

  6. Congrats on the award! Your site is pretty stylish!

My friends and parents are addicted to K-dramas, but I have not fallen victim to it yet! Something tells me that it’s probably a good thing since I could see myself pulling all-nighters to watch a series! With two toddlers, i need all the sleep I can get! :-)

  7. Issamu – It’s so good to hear from you, and thank you! Oh yes, I am really happy to hear you’ve been able to find Korean ingredients in Brazil. I am looking forward to hearing about what you made with all those. I know kimchi will be in order for sure. Take care!

  8. Hi – Congrats on the Stylish Blogger Award and thank you so much for thinking of me! I really appreciate it and am so glad to have found your blog. I am part Korean and absolutely love Korean food!

    Thank you,
    The Enchanted Cook

  9. You certainly deserve this award! I really enjoy reading your blog–it is such a lovely space and the recipes and photos are always inspiring. Thank you Hyosun for passing on this award to me! I am very honored that you thought of me. I too enjoy watching dramas (also to the point of staying up wayyy to late), and though I have not yet watched Winter Sonata, I know it is one of the classics and hope to watch it one day!

  10. Congratulations Hyosun! You have such a wonderful blog and I’m grateful to have discovered it through our class together :) As far as #5 goes, you’d never know it from looking at your photos – they are consistently beautiful (and mouthwatering!)

Thank you so much for passing the award to me, as well. I hope all is well!

  11. Congrats on the award, Hyosun! You certainly deserve this award! Thank you so much for thinking of me! Have a wonderful week.

  12. Congrats on the award, and also a big thank you for thinking of me in turn :)
We are pretty similar! I also love yoga, but hate flying (but LOVE travelling). I totally agree that taking off is the worst part. I am not that big into korean dramas though. :)

  13. Congratulations on the award! And thanks for passing it on! :)
That’s so funny about the Korean dramas. They are very big in Hawaii. We used to watch the Japanese ones on a Japanese station here — they are similar and very addicting!

  14. Winter Sonata is my favourite korean tv series. I have watched it a lot. Maybe because it’s not a happy ending.
